Worcester Community Action Council (WCAC)

The region's anti-poverty agency since 1965. Runs 18 programs including fuel assistance, free tax prep (VITA), SNAP outreach, and financial coaching.

Worcester Refugee Assistance Project

An all-volunteer organization supporting the refugee community in Worcester. They send a monthly newsletter with specific volunteer asks and opportunities.

Refugee & Immigrant Assistance Center (RIAC)

Grassroots, refugee-led nonprofit operating in Worcester since 1993. Provides resettlement support, counseling, education, and social services.

Edward M. Kennedy Community Health Center

Worcester's community health center since 1972. Comprehensive primary care, dental, behavioral health, and pharmacy on a sliding fee scale. Serves 34,000+ patients regardless of ability to pay.

Planned Parenthood Advocacy Fund of Massachusetts

The advocacy arm of Planned Parenthood in MA. Has an explicit volunteer pipeline including legislative advocacy, campus organizing, and a storytelling program.

Tides for Reproductive Freedom

A Massachusetts abortion fund founded by people who have had abortions, are Black, Indigenous, and Queer. Provides financial and practical support for people seeking abortion access.

SWAGLY / Safe Homes

Weekly drop-in programming for LGBTQ+ youth ages 14–23 at 165 Southbridge St. Runs a Trans Resource Center, food and hygiene pantries, and behavioral health counseling.

LGBT Asylum Task Force

Based at Hadwen Park Church (6 Clover St, Worcester). Directly supports LGBTQ+ asylum seekers with housing, financial assistance, and community connection.

Grassroots community power-building through organizing, voter engagement, and issue campaigns focused on income inequality, environmental degradation, and racism.
